Lexifind's Word Check feature allows you to instantly check a word to see if it is in your selected word list.

Before starting make sure that you have selected a word list from the Word Lists column. Then, just type your word into the "Word:" field in the Word Check column, and Lexifind will tell you as you type whether the letters you have entered thus far represent a valid word in that list. This makes it easy to try different words and word endings by simply backing up over the letters you have typed (e.g., "ED" at the end of MEANDERED) and then typing something different in their place (e.g., "INGS" to form MEANDERINGS). As you are typing, Lexifind will tell you that MEANDER IS valid, MEANDERI is NOT valid, MEANDERIN is NOT valid, MEANDERING IS valid, and MEANDERINGS is NOT valid. As with all of Lexifind's word search features, "you don't even have to ask!"℠

This is the simplest feature offered by Lexifind, but it is nonetheless a very convenient way to check the validity of a word while you are playing a game. When you are playing with an open dictionary, this feature can replace the usual time consuming look-ups in a bound physical tome that may well be out of date. And when you are playing with the dictionary closed, this feature can quickly and definitively resolve any word challenges that may arise.
