Lexifind is a general purpose word finder that
provides words instantly the moment you type your request. When there are
multiple words that match your requirements, Lexifind pops up a slider bar that allows you
to instantly sort, and then sweep through, all of the results, whether there are hundreds of
words or only a few. When any of the Make Words or Find Words controls is
selected, you can also hold
down the control key and use the right and left arrow keys (as well as home and end) to
move through your results.
Lexifind is not tied to any particular word game. Instead, it has features that can be used to find words for almost
any word game. Lexifind's help pages, however, describe how to use it for many specific word games,
including Scrabble®,
Literati™,
Anagrams and Crosswords.
Lexifind is suitable for:
Looking up a word to see if it is in a
list of words (TWL, SOWPODS or OSPD4)
that are allowed in a game such as
Scrabble®,
replacing the use of a Scrabble dictionary for word questions and challenges
Finding the best words that can be played within the current words of a
Scrabble®,
Lexulous,
Literati™ or other game board
using the letters you have drawn
Finding all words that can be formed from a given set of letters, either as
a Scrabble word builder (e.g., for the first word played from your rack letters
in Scrabble®), or for
games that use Anagrams, such as
Jumble®,
or simply for the amusement of finding
the many contained words within words or names (e.g., EROS unfolding from a ROSE).
Finding all words that could fit in a particular space in a
crossword puzzle,
given the letters that are already known and the adjacent letters that have
already been played.
Creating study lists of words that are of special interest in word

words that have a Q but no U, or words that have only vowels or only consonants.
