Lexifind Help:
Make Words
Make Words finds all words that can be made from a given set of letters to be played. And if you are attempting to play your letters to a specific area of a game board on which there are already some letters, this search feature will find all words that can be formed by playing your own letters onto that area of the board.
Before starting make sure that you have selected a word list from the Choose Word List column at the top left of the page. Then, just type the letters to be played (e.g., your "rack" of letters in Lexulous or Scrabble) into the "Letters:" field in the Make Words column near the center of the screen above. If you have any blanks (wild cards) in your rack, type in an underscore (_) for each such blank (for example, LEXIFI_). If you have a particular letter that you would especially like to play (e.g., an X) then simply place an exclamation point after that letter in the "Letters:" field to show only words that contain that letter (for example, LEX!IFI_).
If you like, try typing some letters in the "Letters:" field right now. As you enter each letter, Lexifind will immediately display all words that can be made from the letters that you have typed thus far. As with all of Lexifind's word search features, "you don't even have to ask!"℠The words that Lexifind retrieves are displayed using a slider bar that appears the moment there are two or more words to be shown. You can move through these words at any time by dragging this slider from left to right with the mouse. You can also move through results one at a time by holding down the control key and then tapping the right or left arrow key to take you to the next or previous word. Some control within the Make Words group must have the present focus in order for the control-arrow keys to take you through the Make Words results. If the slider bar has the focus, then you do not have to hold down the control key; the arrow keys alone will allow you to move through the retrieved words.
