Lexifind Help:
Jumble
Jumble ® is a game that requires you to unscramble multiple words, and then take certain letters from the unscrambled words and unscramble those letters to form a humorous phrase. A cartoon that gives a hint as to what the phrase is accompanies the puzzle.
The first part of a Jumble puzzle is to unscramble four separate words. Please make your best effort at unscrambling these words yourself. However, if you get stuck on a word, Lexifind can get you past that word so that you can go on to solve other parts of the puzzle yourself.
To unscramble a word using Lexifind, simply enter the scrambled letters in the Rack Letters: field of the Make Words column, making sure that sorting by word length has been selected, and that the Constraints: field is empty.
As you type in the scrambled letters, Lexifind will immediately make all of the words that it can from those letters. If the letters entered are in fact the scrambled letters of a single word (as they always are in Jumble), then that word will be the longest word found, and so will be at the front of the result list. For example, if you enter the letters TRYMEYS in the Rack Letters: field of Make Words, they will be unscrambled to form the word MYSTERY. On very rare occasions, there may be more than one word that can be made that uses all of the letters; if that occurs, the rule of thumb would be to choose the most ordinary of the words presented, as Jumble does not tend to use exotic words.
As you unscramble each of the four words, write it into the spaces provided by the game. When you have finished, look at all of the letters that are in circled spaces and see if you can figure out how to rearrange them into the spaces provided at the end of the puzzle to form the clever phrase that matches the accompanying cartoon. If you sometimes have trouble with this part, see the next page for how Lexifind can help.
